Equipment

For your session at ESi Morzine,

please ensure you have equipment suitable for your discipline and ability level. Skis or a snowboard, boots and poles for skiers are essential. A helmet is compulsory. Also remember to bring warm clothing, gloves and suitable eye protection so you can ski comfortably whatever the conditions.

Ages

At ESi Morzine, there is no strict age limit for getting started:

the main thing is that the child is ready and keen to try out snow sports. Children can generally start skiing from around the age of 3, whilst snowboarding is suitable from the age of 5.

Duration

Group lessons are offered in morning sessions lasting 2½ hours a day and afternoon sessions lasting 2 hours a day, to allow children to progress at their own pace whilst ensuring they continue to enjoy themselves on the slopes.

Timetable

Morning: 10.00 am – 12.30 pm

Lunchtime: 12.30 pm – 2.30 pm

Afternoon: 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm

Languages

Lessons are taught in French and/or English by all our instructors.

Getting there

Course structure

From your arrival at the meeting point to the end of the session, every step of the lesson is organized to ensure you are well supported. Discover the various stages of an ESi Morzine ski or snowboard lesson below, from the initial welcome to the advice given at the end of the session.
1. Activities
Before your visit, we advise you on the package best suited to your profile, level, and expectations.
2. Days & Hours
Depending on the time of year, group classes are offered at various times : morning, lunchtime, or afternoon. Check the available time slots to select the one that best fits your stay.
3. Booking
Book directly online using our form, or contact ESi Morzine by phone at 04 50 79 05 16 to arrange your activity.
4. Show up on the big day
On the day of the lesson, head to the ESi Morzine meeting point a few minutes before the scheduled time. Your instructor will meet you there to get the session off to a good start. Remember to have your full equipment and your skipass before joining your lesson.
6. Live the experience

Make the most of your session to improve your skills and discover the mountains from a new perspective.

Our instructors guide you along routes suited to your ability level while sharing their knowledge of Morzine and the Portes du Soleil. Each lesson combines learning, enjoyment, and discovery.

How to get to Morzine?

Easily plan your journey to Morzine with our information on the various modes of transport available. Whether you choose to travel by car, train, or plane, discover the main options for reaching the resort and organizing your arrival with ease.

To reach Morzine by car, take the A40

Take the “Autoroute Blanche” and then follow one of the two following exits: exit 17 (Bonneville) or exit 18 (Cluses / Scionzier). Morzine is located approximately 30 km from these exits. From Cluses, follow signs for Taninges, Les Gets, and then Morzine.
From Switzerland, you can also reach Morzine via Évian, after the Villeneuve exit.

To reach Morzine by train, the nearest station is Cluses,

located approximately 35 km from the resort. TGV and TER services connect Cluses to several major French cities, including Paris, Lyon, and Annecy. From the station, buses and shuttles provide onward transport to Morzine.

To reach Morzine by air, several nearby international airports are available:

  • Geneva: about a 1.5-hour drive; the most convenient airport for reaching Morzine.
  • Lyon-Saint-Exupéry: about a 2.5-hour journey.
  • Chambéry: about a 1 hour 45 minute drive, though flight options are more limited.
  • Grenoble-Alpes-Isère: about a 2.5 to 3-hour journey.

From these airports, private transfers, taxis, or shuttles are available to take you directly to Morzine.

The Morzine/Avoriaz ski area offers diverse terrain, with slopes suited to everyone from absolute beginners to experienced skiers. Dedicated beginner zones allow skiers to build confidence gradually, while blue and red runs provide plenty of opportunities to hone one’s technique.

A resort for everyone

Advanced skiers can tackle more challenging runs and high-altitude sectors featuring significant vertical drops. Forest runs also offer a unique skiing experience amidst stunning Alpine scenery.

Finally, thanks to its connection to the Portes du Soleil, Morzine allows skiers to vastly expand their playground. With nearly 600 km of slopes, this Franco-Swiss ski area offers a multitude of routes to explore, allowing for varied itineraries and the chance to discover new landscapes every day.
